THIS WEEKEND it's time for DOWN BY THE RIVER, including Hackensaw Boys, J.P. Harris & The Touch Choi

27-04-2015

Down By The River, after Neil Young's song, is set to take place THIS SUNDAY MAY 3RD! It's the first edition of this new rootsfestival organized in cooperation with Poppodium Grenswerk in Venlo and yours truly Sedate Bookings. The festival focusses on renewing roots and alt-country music. The name Down By The River comprises the thoughts behind the festival. Flowing like the river Maas, fresh; seeking the sharp edges. Poppodium Grenswerk is located close to the Maas and the riverbank will also be the scene of the Down By The River Sessions.

Doors open at 15:00, first band on at 16:00. Timetable will follow within the next days.
Presale tickets à €17,50 are on sale through THIS page.

HACKENSAW BOYS
"Acoustic bluegrass and americana played with the intensity of The Clash and The Pogues in their prima" - Rolling Stone

J.P. HARRIS & THE TOUGH CHOICES
"J.P. Harris is the real deal. This ain't you glam country music, with rhinestones and glitter. He's an ex-gutter punk road warrior making down-home American honky-tonk, the way it should be, from both the heart and the bottom of a whiskey bottle" - Esquire

SAM AMIDON
"His highly personal approach opens a window on the American past and lets us feel it like nothing else around" - NPR

RYLEY WALKER
"Walker's new album crests warm currents of jazz, folk and rock, as, say, Van Morrison and Tim Buckley did in their period" - UNCUT Magazine

YOUNG REBEL SET
"How Bruce Springsteen might have sounded had he been raised in the Middlesbrough area" - Q Magazine
