Acclaimed American songwriter Anthony D'Amato returns to Europe for extensive autumn tour

27-06-2018

Hailed by Rolling Stone for his exhilarating brand of “folk music raised on New Jersey grit,” acclaimed American songwriter Anthony D’Amato will cross the Atlantic this autumn for his most extensive European tour yet. The run includes both headline and festival performances, as well as support dates with celebrated roots rockers American Aquarium. See below for current dates, and check out D’Amato’s NPR Tiny Desk Concert here:

D’Amato’s most recent full-length, ‘Cold Snap,’ was produced by Mike Mogis (Bright Eyes, First Aid Kit) and includes contributions from Conor Oberst and members of Bright Eyes, The Faint, and Cursive. The album earned praise everywhere from the BBC to the Associated Press and garnered D’Amato’s national television debut in America, as well as dates around the world with The Old 97’s, Valerie June, Justin Townes Earle, Shovels & Rope, The Felice Brothers, Ziggy Marley, Ricky Ross (Deacon Blue), Andrew Combs, Israel Nash, and more. The album built off the success of D'Amato's 2014 New West Records debut, 'The Shipwreck From The Shore,' which was inspired in part by his time studying with Pulitzer Prize-winning Irish poet Paul Muldoon. That record generated raves on both sides of the pond, with NPR lauding that D’Amato “writes in the tradition of Bruce Springsteen or Josh Ritter," and Uncut proclaiming that his songwriting "echoes with early Bob Dylan." D’Amato’s music has racked up more than eight million streams on Spotify, reached #1 on Amazon’s Singer/Songwriter chart, and turned up on the hit television series Nashville.

D’Amato is planning to release new music later this year, and additional dates will be announced soon.
