Whitney Rose takes 'South Texas Suite EP' and tours Europe, starting this month

Canadian countrypolitan chanteuse Whitney Rose headed down to warmer climates to work a winter engagement at Austin’s famed Continental Club and fell in love with the Texas capitol. She stayed long enough to record the short but sweet six song South Texas Suite EP in just two days. The modest follow-up to her well-received 2015 Raul Malo produced Heartbreaker of the Year utilizes some veterans of that city’s roots scene. 

Before moving to Austin, Whitney Rose had never danced the two-step. Now, the country-pop singer’s infatuation with Texas’ rich musical culture, from stage to studio to dance floor, informs an enthralling new project, a love letter to the Lone Star State. Her new EP is a touch nostalgic, deeply romantic and defiantly personal — it’s Texas, through Whitney Rose’s eyes and ears.

By the end of this month Whitney Rose will start a full European tour for the first time, including a support show for The Mavericks. Find all tourdates here:
