Strung Out & Belvedere confirmed for Zwarte Cross

08-02-2024

It was always going to be different. Regardless of what ended up happening between Strung Out’s previous record—2019’s Songs Of Armor And Devotion—and this new collection of songs, it was always the band’s intention to step away from themselves a little bit with it. Although Dead Rebellion—the band’s 10th album of their remarkable 35 year career—was written during the height of the pandemic and is, as all Strung Out albums have been, a reaction to the world at large and their own personal experiences within it, the band had already decided to end that chapter before Covid. A new beginning had long been in the works. The album will be released through Fat Wreck Chords on April 5th!

Strung Out is an American punk rock band from Simi Valley, California, formed in 1989. They are known mainly for their musical style, which fuses aspects of melodic punk rock, progressive rockand heavy metal to form their primary sound. They have released nine studio albums on Fat Wreck Chords as well as one live album, 2 B-sides collections, a best-of, a box set and appeared on numerous compilations and skate/surf/dirt bike/offroading videos. They have played on the Warped Tour and continue to tour internationally. For this year this includes an appearance at:

18/07: Lichtenvoorde, NL - Zwarte Cross

On tour with Strung Out are Canadian skate-punk legends Belvedere! They are heroes of fast, furious, melodic punk, who’ve never lost sight of their roots. Formed in 1995 and originally never even meant to play a live show, the trailblazing band from Calgary, Alberta quickly grew a reputation on the underground punk scene for their blazing fast speed and melodic vocals. They've toured to 35+ countries and played over 2000 shows.

2020 marked the 25th year of the band’s history, but since all of their tours were moved to 2021; the band felt the need to write and record their 6th full-length instalment, Hindsight Is The Sixth Sense. The album features a furious mix of old and new. The new direction in songwriting is attributed to new members Dan Wollach on guitar and Ryan Mumby on bass.

The all-familiar speed, the riffs, the insightful lyrics and singalong harmonies are all still there thanks to drummer, Casey Lewis and lead singer & founder, Steve Rawles. “Hindsight Is The Sixth Sense” comprises of 13 new tracks and is released on Thousand Islands Records in North America and Lockjaw Records in Europe and the UK.
