Alberta Cross releases new video and has NL + DE dates coming up

06-10-2023

Alberta Cross just released a new video, for Nothing Out There from his latest album. It was shot on Super 8. It contains footage from their recently finished summer tour with Johnny Marr and from their headline show at London's Omeara. There is also footage from one of the festival shows at LOJA Stadium in Spain and pre tour rehearsals at producers Youth's Casa Estudio in the Granada Mountains:

Led by Swedish singer and guitarist Petter Ericson Stakee, Alberta Cross makes cinematic, drawn-out folk rock. Their seventh album Sinking Ships, which was released last spring, was recorded with producer and regular collaboration partner Luke Potashnick in the famous studio 'The Wool Hall' in England: Van Morrison and Tears For Fears have also recorded albums in this studio. Stakee's voice has been compared by music magazine Rolling Stone to that of Jim James and Neil Young. In the past, Alberta Cross has toured with Mumford & Sons, Portugal. The Man, Neil Young and Them Crooked Vultures.

On Sinking Ships, Alberta Cross wonders what happens when, after a lifetime of hopping from one country to another, from tour to tour, city to city, bar to bed and bed to bus, you finally stop and stand still. “A lot of the songs are about what happens after you settle somewhere,” says Stakee, who now lives in Frome, Somerset with his family. The album consists of songs that look back to the past in the hope of making a plan for the future.

This month Alberta Cross is over for shows in The Netherlands and Germany:
