Tourdates and new release JD McPherson
Posted on May 3, 2012 | No Comments Tweet
JD McPherson is back in the Benelux with some dates and a re-release of his record “Signs & Signifiers” on Rounder/Universal Records. We’ve never heard a rockabilly record with so much soul! This is so overwhelming stuff you just háve to dance! JD’s voice sounds has the quality of James Hunter and can groove like James Brown. This is traditional rock ‘n roll and R&B music; in a modern jacket. Check out the amazing video for “North Side Gal”:

Ben Caplan for Roots & Roses and Trix
Posted on May 1, 2012 | No Comments Tweet
Rugged, raspy, and roaring with charisma, Halifax’s Ben Caplan is to folklore what smoke is to bourbon. Perfectly coupled. Ben’s songwriting is as bold in range as it is in ferocity. Fuelled by a quality of melodrama and powerful lyricism, it’s the romance and the manhood crashing with his voice that gives Caplan a truly innovative and experimental artistry. A sound that bridges the gap between controlled composition and unruly passion.
Last week he blew our mind in Eindhoven and we’re proud to take care of his Belgian bookings. Today he’ll be playing Roots ‘n Roses Festival in Lessines and tomorrow he’s attending Trix in Antwerp.
01-05-2012: Lessines (BE) @ Roots & Roses Festival
02-05-2012: Antwerpen (BE) @ Trix with Matt the Electrician

Together with their tourbuddies The Menzingers and their good friends of Banquets they’ll throw a nice punkrock bash on April 29th. Make sure you’re there!
