Of cource we are talking about the famous 2-Tone Ska band The Beat here. The band was in the middle of the first UK Ska wave in the late 70s and early 80s. With their cover of Motown clasic “Tears of a Clown” they break through. Many dance floor classics fallowed. Think of hits like “Mirror in the Bathroom“, “Hands off she’s mine” and “Best Friend“.

This weekend they will play Leiden, Eindhoven and Leeuwarden.

Eurosonic 2012 was a nice blast again.

First off, Maison du Malheur converted a truck into a nightclub, parked on the Vismarkt in Groningen and performed no less than 5 sets at Eurosonic for 40 curious visitors each. And they made the truck bounce! Expect shows of them all through the year!


Secondly on Thursday we had The Minutes from Ireland play at the Vindicat. People couldn’t get in, good responses. Their record “Marcata” is now out and is distributed through Konkurrent in Benelux. Expect new shows in Benelux through April.

The Minutes are new on our roster too, and can be seen on January 12th at The Vindicat during Eurosonic/Noorderslag. Go check them out too. Expect some date in April in the Benelux for them.

Of cource we are talking about nobody else than the Urban Voodoo Machine.

The band calls their music Bourban Soaked Gypsy Blues Bop’N'Stroll and a better discribtion can’t be found. Leaded by the Norwegean vocalist and guitar player Paul-Ronney Angel this band is weaponed with TWO drummers, guitars, upright bass, horns, accordion and many more intruments. Think about one, they play it.

Last summer they set Paaspop and Dranauter Folk upside down. This weekend we expect this rock’n roll circus to do the same in the clubs they play.
