Hershey’s latest EP “Underground Classics” prove this solid mix. This new EP is one with punk rock covers by Fear, The Misfits, Agent Orange and Ill Repute.

2013’s self-titled Bass Drum of Death album is everything about 2011’s debut GB City amplified, in every sense of the word. With nothing but his inspiration and his instruments, Barrett spent the fall of 2012 in his studio, smashing out punk rock. This time it was just him, lots of coffee, the same trusty copy of GarageBand that gave the world GB City, a Realistic reverb unit to give everything just a little of that stoned-in-outer-space and for the first time in Bass Drum of Death history, a bass that he used on every new track. Why? Because why not, says Barrett: “I don’t ever wanna feel stuck, like, ‘I can’t put bass on this because I didn’t do that before.’”

They will start at the Queensday Festival in Venlo, do Vera, Groningen the day after and will be back in June to rock out at dB’s in Utrecht. “The Wolf You Feed” is their latest effort out of late 2012, and after classic albums such as “Something To Crow About” and “Confussion Of Our Enemies” this is once again a muscular album of these guys from Denton, Texas. Frontman Mike Wiebe is known as much for his howling vocals as he is for leaping off things on stage, until he lands himself in the hospital. The rest of the band made a name for themselves for playing fast paced skate rock ‘n’ roll. In fact, when having just released “Something To Crow About” in 2004 we can look back at these wild shows where the band literaly kicked in eachothers teeth for instance.

Now, in 2013 this action is where the band finds themselves with their latest album attempting to age gracefully while maintaining the energy that made them who they are today.

The band, mostly based in Metz, comes from the mind of Guillaume Marietta, who was joined by Seb Normal and Sebastien Joly.

New album

“Desolve Me” is the band’s kraut space garage manifesto. Songs stretch out, the drums go more tribal, the synth hammers out this keys on an infinite highways and the guitar gets lost in delay pedal’s fog. Think of Syd Barett, the Velvet Underground or Spaceman 3. With Reward your grace the band explored shoegaze and other pop territories.

This weekend the band will play Here’s Your Future Festival in 013, Tilburg (28-04) then the Queensnite Bash in dBs, Utrecht (29-04) and the Queensday Festival in Venlo (30-04).

Larry And His Flask sign Xtra Mile, new EP, support Frank Turner, tour Europe

Larry And His Flask are a high energy, five piece band that have incorportated many facets of Folk, Punk, Gypsy Jazz, Bluegrass, Soul and Brass band Music to create their very own unique brand of rock and roll. Some people call it folk-punk, some people call it down right wilde. But no matter what you call it, their live show is one to be seen and heard.

Their love of old school country, folk, hip hop, gypsy jazz, and everything in between comes shining through in their full length album “All that we know”. Xtra Mile Recordings will digitally release the EP “Hobo’s Lament” on April 22nd followed by a limited numbered CD on May 6th. Their new album “By The Lamplight” is slated to hit the streets in June of this year.

Their second tour throughout Europe starts today and stretches over two months (!) and takes them to a lot of place in Europe. Besides the sold out shows supporting Frank Turner even more headline shows are on the list, some of which are selling out as we speak.


From street corners to barns, from squats to coffee shops, from dive bars to international music festivals, Larry And His Flask continue to bring their own brand of rock and roll to the people.
