Accelerators: New song + Video Online - Ready Set Go!
Date: 2nd July 2009
June has been a great month for Accelerators. They supported De Heideroosjes in Hellendoorn with Marien Nicotine filling in for Sander Wander on guitar. Someone made a video of "Go Get Your Brain Checked" during their set:
They also played a show with Off With Their Heads and The Real Danger in Utrecht, both amazing bands. Finally last Friday they did a show at the famous Melkweg in Amsterdam to support No Use For A Name. They had a good time, lots of people showed up, sold a bunch of merch and they smoked some weed out of an apple with the NUFAN guys! Good times!
July is looking even better as their European tour starts today. They are kicking off in Grobbendonk, Belgium. After that it's back to their hometown for a show at the WATT where The Apers are releasing their 4th full lenght records. On the 4th they will say goodbyes and head towards Germany, Italy (including Sicily), France, England and Ireland.
They will take Martijn, Thijs and Jorrit this time around. Jorrit will be documenting the whole trip on video and they will be posting video reports on the roll. Keep a good lookout on various blogs (including this one) for irregular videos from the front. Every video will contain a different song from their album, as well as some hilarious footage of the tour.
To tease you a little bit, they posted a video from their last tour in December in Morocco:
New shirts have arrived too, there won't be many left after the tour. If you want one make sure you order now by emailing them or sending them a message on myspace: www.myspace.com/accelerators. By the way, the boys are on Twitter now too: www.twitter.com/theaccelerators

Accelerators touring Amsterdam, Italy and the UK
Date: 12th June 2009
On July 3th the Rotterdam punk rockers Accelerators get on their bus to head for a new tour. The new album “Accelerators” must be promoted outside of The Netherlands, and with a southern destination that won’t be a bad trip!
Accelerators start off in their hometown supporting at the CD-releaseparty of The Apers. At WATT in Rotterdam these punk rock veterans are presenting their new album titled “You Are Only As Strong As The Table You Dance On”. A good kick-off, party ensured!
Next up is the Rosrock festival in Rossum (NL) and via a show in the German city of Tübingen the band will arrive in the sunny south. The cities of Genova, Piazenca, Rome and Milano will be headed for. The Italian part of the tour will end in Palermo on the Beer and Bones festival, where The Manges, amongst others, will play too.
From there the road will take the guys through Valence (FR) to England and Ireland. In England Accelerators will play 3 out of 4 shows with the highly appreciated Zatopeks. After these England shows the boat will take them to Ireland, to end the tour in Galway and Belfast.
Before leaving for this tour, Accelerators will support No Use For A Name at their show in the Melkweg on the 26th of June in Amsterdam. When the summer ends the band just continues touring, but this time with the traveling festival called Popronde, that takes them to all the major cities of Holland.
Sedate Bookings announces two new additions to our roster. Both bands will tour in September.
The perennial road warriors of punk rock, The Briggs, have spent the last six years on the road with little respite. This doesn’t really bother them though. Considering the momentum the band has gained in the last few years, they welcome it. And though, the ride hasn’t been the easiest, The Briggs are ready to break out with a new record on Side One Dummy, to be released in June.
Portland Oregon junkbox blues duo Hillstomp is infamous for digging through the dumps and forgotten backwoods of American music, recycling traditional elements into a refreshing and distinctive brand of do-it-yourself hill country blues stomp. North Mississippi trance blues, a bit of Appalachia, and a dash of punkabilly come clanging and tumbling from assorted buckets, cans and BBQ lids, all drenched in rambunctious slide guitar. Somehow it just works!
